We've all been there.
You get a buzz of creative energy, like lightning in your veins.
You go get your art supplies and you sit down to begin drawing.
And as you stare at the blank paper, you realize....
You don't have any ideas.
Nothing. Nada.
Your creative well has run dry.
This used to happen to me all the time. I would get so frustrated with myself and often end up admitting defeat after a few minutes to go watch TV or scroll through social media, dejected.
What do you do when you have no inspiration to begin the drawing process?
How do you make art when you're all out of ideas?
The answer is simpler than you might think.
When you're wanting to make art but the ideas aren't flowing, you can turn to an easy creative practice called intuitive art.
What is intuitive art, you ask?
In a nutshell, intuitive art is stream-of-consciousness creation.
You know how I have been sharing my positive experiences with the Morning Pages technique all these years? Intuitive art is the same basic concept, but with drawing and painting instead than writing.
And tomorrow at 2 p.m. you can join me for a live class and demonstration -- all for free!
Come make intuitive art with me! |
And if you find yourself wanting to learn more about this freestyle creative exercise, then you'll love my class on Foxsy -- Intuitive Art: Loosen Up & Break Creative Block.
I not only show you how the practice works and how to incorporate it into your art habits; I even share 13 fantastic tips for filling up your sketchbook pages quickly with beautiful art.
This intuitive art course is perfect whether you're just starting your creative journey or you've been making art professionally for years -- the technique is more about getting out of your own head and getting onto the paper.
Overthinking is the enemy of any creator, and this course shows you how to push past that common pitfall and get to the fun part of actually making art.
